Job Description:
The Elementary SPED Teacher is responsible for contributing to the educational system as a unit and to the growth of each student in the assigned curriculum area. The Teacher shall aid each student to acquire knowledge, and develop skills in the assigned subject to further realize his or her potential.
Requirements:
You must pass a fingerprint-based background check and have a valid Texas teaching certificate, ESSA qualified with the required endorsements for subject/level assignment. Knowledge of assigned subjects and general knowledge of curriculum and instruction. ESL certificate preferred.
Special Note: A Special Education Stipend of $2,000 is paid for SPED certified teachers in this position.

3. Provide a certified copy of your college transcript.
4. Provide a copy of a valid Texas Teacher Certificate.
5. Provide proof of Identity (Driver's Lic., SS card, Birth Certificate, Passport, or other Federal Documents.)
6. If required, you must submit to and pass a biometric (fingerprint-based) background check.
Included in the electronic application:
- A notice to comply with the requirement to a Criminal History Record Information (CHRI) review via the "DPS FACT" database (included during the enrollment process) per Texas Government Code Sec. 411.097.
- An "Affidavit of Applicant Offered Employment" (included in the application process) must be completed and notarized before a candidate is offered a professional position at N-S CISD. A notary public is available in the Human Resources office for candidates who are recommended for employment. This pre-employment requirement complies with TEC 21.009.
