Job Description:

The SPED Teacher is responsible for contributing to the educational system as a unit and to the growth of each student in the assigned curriculum area.  The SPED Teacher shall aid each student to acquire knowledge to further realize his or her potential.     

Requirements:

A valid Texas teaching certificate in SPED EC-12, High School Generic SPED, Generic SPED 6-12, and SPED Supplemental (valid at grade levels and in subject areas of base certificates).  Capable of teaching all secondary grade levels with knowledge of assigned subjects and general knowledge of curriculum and instruction. 

Application Procedure:

1. Complete the Web-based electronic application. 

2. Complete the EPI survey.  A link is provided at the end of the application (Survey Required) 

3. Provide/upload a copy of your college transcript.

4. Provide a copy of a valid Texas Teacher/PE Certificate.

5. Provide proof of Identity (Driver's Lic., Birth Certificate, Passport, or other Federal Documents.)

6. If required, must submit to and pass a biometric (fingerprint-based) background check. 

Included in the electronic application: 

• A notice to comply with the requirement to a Criminal History Record Information (CHRI) review via the "DPS FACT" database (included during the enrollment process) per Texas Government Code Sec. 411.097.  
•  An "Affidavit of Applicant Offered Employment" (included during the enrollment process) must be completed and notarized before a candidate is offered a professional position at N-S CISD.  A notary public is available in the Human Resources office when candidates are recommended for employment. This pre-employment requirement complies with TEC 21.009 and local policy.
