Description

Primary Purpose:

Provide leadership in developing and implementing the district's English-as-a-Second Language (ESL) program.  Collaborate with district staff and outside resources to ensure educational opportunities for English Language Learner (ELL) students. 

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree

A valid Texas teaching certificate with an endorsement in ESL education

Highly qualified with the required endorsements for subject/level assignment

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of assigned subjects and general knowledge of curriculum and instruction.

Minimum 3 years experience as an ESL teacher.

Ability to interpret data and formulate a differentiated instructional approach.

Ability to communicate effectively with bilingual parents and students.

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.  

 

Requirements:

A valid Texas teaching certificate, highly qualified with the required endorsements for subject/level assignment. Knowledge and experience of assigned subjects and general knowledge of curriculum and instruction.

4. Provide proof of Identity (Driver's Lic., SS card, Birth Certificate, Passport or other Federal Documents.)

  • You must affirm whether you are in compliance with the SB 9 fingerprint requirement and submit to a CHRI review via the "DPS Computerized Criminal History (CCH) Verification Form" (included in the application process).  
  •  An "Affidavit of Applicant Offered Employment" (included in the application process) must be completed and notarized before a candidate is offered a professional position at N-S CISD.  A notary public is available in the Human Resources office for candidates who are recommended for employment. This pre-employment requirement complies with TEC 21.009.
