Job Description:

The High School Special Education Teacher is responsible for contributing to the educational system as a unit and to the growth of each student in the assigned curriculum area.  The Teacher shall aid each student in acquiring knowledge and developing skills in the assigned subject to further realize their potential.

 

**This position will work in the Life Skills classroom, providing special education students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. The Life Skills Teacher will develop or modify curricula and prepare lessons and other instructional materials to align with students' ability levels. Work in self-contained, team, or departmental capacity as assigned. 

 

Requirements:

A valid Texas teaching certificate, highly qualified with the required endorsements for subject/level assignment. Knowledge of assigned subjects and general knowledge of curriculum and instruction.  Knowledge and experience of PPCD preferred.

6. Complete sexual harassment class instruction (Provided by N-S C.I.S.D. staff before employment).
