The Nixon-Smiley CISD is accepting applications for several seasonal (temporary) Maintenance Workers.  The temporary maintenance worker is responsible for the maintenance of the district's grounds on the Nixon and Smiley campuses.  Workers must maintain grounds and all equipment to ensure full educational use at all times. The temporary maintenance worker is responsible for providing students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient place in which to learn, play and develop.

 

Job Requirements:

 

Repairing or facilitating the repair of any malfunction of school equipment when observed.  Moving furniture, and boxes and Performing maintenance work such as plumbing, painting, carpentry, and all other necessary duties as assigned or needed. 

Must practice good safety habits on the job. 

 

This position requires a self-starter whose initiative is only eclipsed by his/her knowledge of grounds and building maintenance.

Included in the electronic application: 

• A notice to comply with the requirement for a Criminal History Record Information (CHRI) review via the "DPS FACT" database (included during the enrollment process) per Texas Govt. Code Sec. 411.097 (current N-S students are exempted).
• An "Affidavit of Applicant Offered Employment" (included in the application process) must be completed and notarized before a candidate is offered a position at N-S CISD.  This process is only for hired candidates.  A notary public is available in the Human Resources office.  This pre-employment requirement complies with TEC 21.009.
