Job Description:
The Secondary Librarian directs the operation of the middle school and high school library/media center to provide services and resources that allow students to develop skills in locating, evaluating, synthesizing, and using information to solve problems. The librarian serves as teacher, materials expert, and curriculum adviser to ensure that the library/media center is involved in the school's instructional programs. The Librarian supervises students in the library/media center to ensure safe and practical use of campus learning resources. Assignments to additional or specific duties may occur as necessary and as assigned by the Principal.
The Librarian will also serve as the testing facilitator for TSI, SAT, ACT, etc.
Requirements:
You must pass a fingerprint-based background check and have a valid Texas teaching certificate with the required endorsements for subject/level assignment or approved alternative certification. Knowledge of assigned subjects and general knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
