The Nixon-Smiley C.I.S.D. has an opening for a full-time Day Care Worker at Mini Mustang Cottage in Nixon, Texas. This position will assist in implementing childcare programs and ensuring that each child is well cared for and safe. Provide routine care for infants and children in an instructional setting. Assignments to additional or specific duties may occur as necessary and are assigned by the Day Care Director.  

 

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old,
• High school diploma or hold a General Educational Development (GED) certificate
• Complete annual training, including first aid and CPR
• Ability to read and verbally communicate with children, staff, and parents
• Ability to work with groups of children in a positive manner
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Effective organizational and communication skills
• Ability to relate to children and adults with courtesy, respect, acceptance, compassion, and patience
•  Some experience in an infant/childcare setting

• A notice to comply with the requirement to a Criminal History Record Information (CHRI) review via the "DPS FACT" database (included during the enrollment process) per Texas Government Code Sec. 411.097.    
•  An "Affidavit of Applicant Offered Employment" (included in the application process) must be completed and notarized before a candidate is offered a professional position at N-S CISD.  A notary public is available in the Human Resources office for candidates who are recommended for employment. This pre-employment requirement complies with TEC 21.009 and local policy.
