The Nixon-Smiley C.I.S.D. has an opening for a full-time Day Care Director at Mini Mustang Cottage in Nixon, Texas. This position will direct and manage the operations of the district childcare center. The Day Care Director will plan and implement operations and programs following the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) and district guidelines. Assignments to additional or specific duties may occur as necessary and are assigned by the Deputy Superintendent.  

 

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 21 years old

• Have a high school diploma or its equivalent

• Meet one of the following combinations of education and experience, as defined in §746.1021 of the Texas Health and Human Services Commission: MINIMUM STANDARDS FOR CHILD-CARE DIRECTOR

• Complete annual training, including first aid and CPR

Knowledge/Skills:

• Thorough understanding of childcare center operations

• Effective organizational, communication, computer, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to coordinate center functions
• Ability to implement policy and procedures
• Demonstrated knowledge of state childcare guidelines and licensing requirements
• Ability to manage budget and personnel

• A notice to comply with the requirement to a Criminal History Record Information (CHRI) review via the "DPS FACT" database (included during the enrollment process) per Texas Government Code Sec. 411.097.    
•  An "Affidavit of Applicant Offered Employment" (included in the application process) must be completed and notarized before a candidate is offered a professional position at N-S CISD.  A notary public is available in the Human Resources office for candidates who are recommended for employment. This pre-employment requirement complies with TEC 21.009 and local policy.
