The Nixon-Smiley CISD has an opening for a full-time Level III Boot Camp Instructor at the DAEP campus in Smiley, TX. The Level III Boot Camp Instructor will design and develop the boot camp curriculum that integrates academic support, physical fitness, and character-building activities for students assigned to the Discipline Alternative Education Program (DAEP). Maintain a highly structured and orderly environment while performing responsible physical exercises and drilling of students, including disciplinary, guidance, and security work. The safety of the students is a priority of Nixon-Smiley CISD.
Education/Certification:
- GED or high school diploma (some college preferred)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and TEA policies
Experience:
- Experience working with children or adolescents in an educational or recreational setting
- Experience in a boot camp, military, or discipline-oriented environment preferred
